In 1994, Si embarked on a career as a trainee Operating Department Practitioner (ODP). He initially started work as a Theatre Support Worker at Poole NHS Hospital, Dorset but soon realised his potential. Training involved working at Poole, The Royal Bournemouth and Southampton University Hospitals.
In 1997, Si joined the Theatre Team at The Nuffield Hospital in Bournemouth where he was later joined by his sister, Sarah.
Simon worked as an Operating Department Practitioner for Genepool Agency for the last few years of his life . He worked in the Anaesthetic Departments of several southern hospitals in the UK.
From 2001 - 2003, Si lived in New Zealand at Harding Avenue,Mount Wellington, Auckland, working at The Ascot Integrated Hospital, in Auckland as an Anaesthetic Technician.
Si then moved to Napier, working at the Hawkes Bay Regional and Mercy Ascot Hospitals
Former work friends and colleagues are welcome to write comments.
Whilst working in Hawkes Bay, Simon lived at Clifton Road, Haumoana.
He loved to surf and fish and was totally enamoured with the New Zealand countryside and it's spiritual heritage.

The Lord of The Rings was one of Si's favourite films especially as it was filmed in New Zealand and seemed to bring to life all those magical and mystic mythologies that fascinated him so much.

Si became involved with a local Apple Mac User group and became totally absorbed in creating programmes and editing his artwork. One of his close work colleagues, Dr Peter Lloyd, Anaesthetist who himself was a well known and highly respected environmentalist in Hawkes Bay, tragically died recently.
Together, they both shared their love of computers and keeping abreast of all Apple updates.
